I admit, I only read the first 1/3 of this book, and I couldn't take it any longer. If you have worked for a company with proper configuration management, or are familiar with the topic, then you will hate this book. It is too high level for a software professional working for a company with proper configuration management in place and who already believes that it's a good thing.
On the other hand, if you think configuration management is a bad idea, read this book and you'll be bombarded with stories about failures due to a lack of configuration management.
