Better Wireless Reception On A Dell Inspron in Ubuntu

Got a Dell Inspiron Laptop Circa 2008 that gets really bad wireless reception under Ubuntu Linux?

Use the bcm43xx-fwcutter package instead the b43-fwcutter to restore the proprietary firmware that the card uses. bcm43xx-fwcutter is in Universe, so there is no need to go back to Gutsy:

aptitude purge b43-fwcutter
aptitude install bcm43xx-fwcutter
on
