This revolution was not something created by Apple, but rather something that happened to come along when Apple was getting into that market. It was eventual that interface of the Palm Zire Z72 or the Palm Treo (which were both very similar to the iPhone, with a scrolling grid of icons on a main screen, no multitasking, etc) would have become WebOS given that capacitive technology.
